Benefits to working with a private pay clinician:
Why work with a private pay clinician when you already pay for health insurance? Excellent question!
Specialty: I am a trauma specialist – certified in EMDR, extensively trained in clinical care, loss, and crisis intervention. I continually engage in advanced trainings and professional development in the field of trauma, anxiety, and loss. I invest in my training and education so that I may be wholly invested in your treatment. We will get right to work on meeting your goals.
Availability: When a 3rd party is not limiting the amount of time I spend with you, we can decide together what session length will best suit your needs. The time that was spent dealing with insurance companies and administrative tasks is now time available for direct client care, professional education, and research of innovative treatment approaches. I am free to preserve the quality of care provided to each client.
Right to confidentiality of your records: When contracting with insurance companies, providers are expected to provide diagnostic information and intermittent treatment summaries in order for the insurance company to decide if your treatment is medically necessary. Confidential means confidential.
Autonomy: You and I together will discuss the course and length of your treatment, not a 3rd party who you have never met. In this office, you are the boss of you.
